Our Branch

Honorary membership may be applied for by anyone who has not served in the forces but would like to join us. All applications will be considered by the committee then put to a General Meeting for the members to decide if an application for Honorary Membership should be accepted.

Members of the Household Division are invited as Associate Members.

Many and varied events are organised each year which include Attending Wellington Barracks for Regimental Remembrance Day, attending the annual Grenadier Day, Informal Lunch in the Spring and a Formal Lunch usually in October. A Christmas Social normally concludes the year.

Other events that are organised are Canoeing down the River Wye, Cycling in the Forest of Dean, an Autumn Walk, Asparagus Supper and a Garden Party.

Occasionally extra items are added, for example a visit to a Stately Home or other places of interest.

The Branch runs a 50 Club with four draws held per year. Entry is £30.00 for the season.

As the branch does not ask for any fees or annual subscriptions.   Any profits made go to welfare and to assist in the running of the branch.

However new members are invited to make a five pounds donation as a joining fee. Thereafter there are no other fees or subscriptions to be paid.

The Annual General Meeting is held on the last Thursday of March.

Normal meetings are held on the last Thursday of January. March, May, July, September and November. All held at the Victory Club, Lypiatt Road, Cheltenham commencing at 19:30 hours.

For many years this branch has prided itself on its approach to welfare. Over time countless acts of kindness and consideration have been made.

Anyone knowing of any member who may be in hospital, down at heel or just plain lonely, then please make contact us.

Every year a varied and assorted programme of events are planned. If anyone has an idea or suggestion as to a future event then please make contact with the Social Secretary Alan Holford. We are always on the look out for suggestions.

Meetings are all held at the Victory Club, Lypiatt Road, Cheltenham commencing at 19:30 hours.

Meetings are held on the last Thursday of the months of January, March (AGM) May, July, September & November.

ALL MEMERS OF THE BRANCH ARE WELCOME.

Committee Meetings are called as and when required.

Our members now reach far and wide with one each in Spain, Portugal and one in the Middle East.
